Cape Town Book Fair report back - 16-19 June 2007

This years Cape Town Book Fair was a huge succes by all accounts. More that 49 000 attendees over 4 days ! This has been the largest event held at the CTICC and a new record for the organisers.

Once again we were the only stand showcasing graphic novels, and with our prime position on the corner opposite the entrance, we were flooded with people throughout the 4 days.

Saturdays launch of Mamaba # 5 went well with loads of local support from the local comics community. Opening speaker Zapiro discussed the ins & outs of a cartoonist life and Andy Mason (N.D. Mazin) kept the flag flying for all local comic writers & artists. Mamba # 5 is now officially available in the store.

Spider-man was big hit with the kids at the fair. A crowd had already gathered to meet Spider-man before 12.00 and continued for the following 2 hours ! Spider-Man handed out free comics to kids and parents gladly took snaps of their little ones with Spidy !
